Hintersee Schnitzel January 2, 2022 First hike of 2022! The five-kilometer long, family-friendly circular hiking trail is suitable for prams and impresses with its unobstructed, freely accessible riverside areas. Display boards provide information about the flora and fauna as well as the history of the lake. Our favorite board is the “all about snakes”, you find out about different kinds of (mostly harmless) snakes that can linger around the paths or even enjoy a sunbath on a rock and won’t move until you get too close. Today, we opt to walk against the unwritten walking order and circle anti clock-wise. The North and East shores are a bit more crowded in winter because sun warms you while you walk. The East edge of Hintersee., where clear fresh water enters the milky lake from beyond. The South/West rim is rather rocky and shaded by trees. Just another 30 min back to where we started now! This farmhouse has got a really neat spot. This “waterfall” dribbles only during rainy spells or in spring. Sat on this bench often. One of our most-walked remedies for a spontaneous hiking fever ;) Schnitzel Donations in form of Darbo Preiselbeer Kompott are greatly appreciated ;)
