Tuolumne Grove

The 4 km round hike kept us marveling at giant sequoias (redwood trees).

The walk down to the grove is 150 m in elevation.
We’re lucky to still see all the autumn colors attached to the trees.
Not long after the first redwood shines through the leaves.
This and about a dozen others can be looked at on a loop walk.
Some are burnt and partly rot away, albeit slowly due to the dry montane conditions.
Majestic giants.
The others look like match sticks in comparison.
One of a few tunnel trees in California (most fell in fires or storms, the rest is privately owned)
