From caterpillar to monarch butterfly

Meet Hans, our pet. We treated him well and fed him with fresh twigs of swan plant every day while he was a caterpillar.

We watched him disappear into his green exoskeleton two weeks ago.
To welcome him back with wings.
Turns out it’s a female, though. Beautiful monarch butterfly still. :)
