This time we took a sea shuttle from Kaiteriteri to Tonga Quarry and had a nice 2.5h walk over to Awaroa with our Australian guest Emine. At this time of the year, the cicadas on the trees are extremely loud but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the sunny day and a very good lunch at the Awaroa Lodge Cafe. :)
A highlight was the new inlet river bridge at the end of Onetahuti beach where thousands of baby fish went up and down. Our kids had fun moving the fish around with their shadows from top of the bridge.
