There’s one thing not to miss once you’ve got your teeth into Abel Tasman National Park: the split apple rock. It’s not exactly at the walk site but north Kaiteriteri and south Marahau (in the real middle of nowhere) and we thought we’ve got lost when suddenly a sign popped out saying “to the split apple rock, walk”. It was then we realised the walking was not done for the day :) But it turned out to be fun, running down the laid out wooden path to the beach access. The beautiful golden sand beach opened up in front of us then and all the troubles faded, the kids went shell and stoneseeking and I finally put out my camera again.
